Hip Hop – Dead Prez [Original Music Video] HD

dead prez is an American political hip hop duo composed of stic.man and M-1. They are known for their confrontational style combined with militant Marxist and pan-Africanist lyrics. These lyrics tend to focus on social justice, critical pedagogy, institutional racism, police, capitalism, veganism, education, prison systems, religion, activism against political repression, and corporate control over the media, especially hip-hop record labels. Dead Prez made their stance clear on their first album, declaring on the lead song, “I’m a African” that the group is “somewhere between NWA and PE.”

My Top 20 Underground Hip Hop Artists/Groups

This video has been up for a while and has received a bunch of sweet comments. Thanks guys. Since it is a couple of years old and I definitely have a different top 20 now. I have discovered new music and opinions have changed. I may make a sequel. Let me know if I should. Just to clear this up.. Deltron 3030 and Del tha Funky Homosapien are NOT the same. Deltron is a group of three people: Del, Kid Koala, and Dan the Automator. We clear? I probably wouldn’t have Deltron on my list now. I thought they’d come out with their new album, but that’s still on the shelf. One album (although sweet) isn’t enough for a list. Old info: My heart and soul rests with Rock & Roll, new and old. My guilty pleasure musically, however, is that damn rap music. Ah but not that garbage on TV. I prefer noise made in the underground. Here’s a quick list I made with songs I like from each artist/group. Feel free to ask me questions, call me an idiot for excluding someone, or tell me that Lil’ Wayne is better…haha sorry…I am always looking for new ish though, so let me know if I completely overlooked someone.
